You can imagine that if you spent all day, every day in the sun, surf and sand, you might start looking a bit worse for wear.

Our rescue gear and equipment is the same – the frequency with which it is used, coupled with the harsh Australian coastal conditions mean that this equipment needs to either be repaired, replenished, or replaced often.

Rescue gear and equipment make saving lives possible.

With challenging beach conditions being a reality on Australian shores, it is essential that our surf lifesavers have dependable and durable tools they can rely on. One of our most important tools is our surf rescue and patrol vehicles, which we equip with lifesaving rescue gear and equipment so that we can be ready to save a life at a moment’s notice.

With the assistance of Isuzu UTE Australia, surf lifesavers across the country are already patrolling beaches and in the community with a fleet of Isuzu D-MAX Utes and MU-X SUVs. Along with housing all of our lifesaving equipment, they also give us the ability to tow an Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) or a Rescue Water Craft (RWC) and carry a rescue board and other vital equipment.

As you can imagine, all this equipment and the high level of training our surf lifesavers undertake does come at a cost. Putting just one fully-equipped patrol on our beaches can cost upward of $80,000, and we rely on generous donations from people like you to make this possible.

Isuzu UTE Australia has generously pledged an $80,000 donation, which will enable us to train and equip another patrol to make our beaches a safer place. Our volunteer surf lifesavers will have everything they need to keep you safe in their Isuzu vehicle, so that you can have a great day out at the beach.
